                                   Contact Information

Over the years, this website has had a COMMENTS section at the bottom of each page (usually appearing  just below the bottom edge of the regular text/content of the article).  Sometimes the “Leave a reply, comment or query” form / box  (which should appear at the very bottom of all the comments on each individual webpage – in order from newest to oldest)  may not appear on the page, especially when viewing this site on a mobile device.

I apologize for any problems a reader might have when trying to leave a comment or reply on this site.   I’m not a professional “computer person” and sometimes I’ve had problems with WordPress-related plugin updates and other issues.

In any case, I would like to reiterate here that this site is primarily aimed at providing information on the history and background of American glass manufacturing companies, and identifying vintage and antique glass, and usually I try to avoid the subject of current values and prices in the field of collectible and antique glassware.   There are many other sites that delve more into this aspect of collecting, as well as some books and price guides.

So, I respectfully ask that readers please refrain from sending me correspondence with the sole intent of asking about the value or current prices of any particular item.  Such information can sometimes be better gleaned by studying ebay and other internet site auction prices (completed items prices, not asking or “minimum bid” prices).  Also, Worthpoint is a site with archived listings of millions of ebay auctions and the prices realized (although the site does require a subscription to view prices).

Currently (12/6/2023) my direct email address for correspondence with readers of this site is:  < daverwhi  “at”  gmail “dot” com >  .

I have it purposefully written that way to (hopefully) avoid some of the email harvesting bots that roam the internet,  and reduce the amount of spam.   Although sometimes I am unable to answer all emails, I will try to get back with readers who send me a message to that address.

(IMPORTANT:  For some reason, when I’ve replied to some of the email queries I’ve received over the last year or more, I never got any response at all.   In some cases, I believe this is because my reply is being directed to your email spam or “junk” folders.  PLEASE double-check your spam folder just to make sure, if you have not received a reply in your inbox!)

THANK YOU very much for your patience and understanding!!

  1. Hi David,
I was on a dig with my girlfriend last weekend and we found an odd ASCO bottle which is skinny and about 6 inches tall. It has raised lines all around it, about an inch apart. Searched for hours online but couldn’t find anything like it. Just curious if you have any idea what it held. If it helps the seam goes straight to top where there are no screw indentations, which leads me to believe it might have been a “push on top” if that makes any sense. Thank you for taking the time to read my comment, you do a real service to bottle collectors and I appreciate your sites in depth information for all types of glass.
    Best regards,
    Thomas Kedves

    1. Hi Thomas,
Your ASCO bottle piqued my curiosity, so I did a keyword search within the Worthpoint site. I found several bottles that carried the name ASCO, so evidently the brand was used for several unrelated products, including a soda and a brand of vinegar. Here is the URL for one listing. This bottle contained a brand of vinegar and I presume more than one size of bottle was sold. Is this the same design as your bottle? ASCO vinegar bottle on Worthpoint

      Hope this helps!
      David
